My Speech Buds, LLC, is owned and operated by Mary Schmidt-Baumgart and her husband, David Baumgart. They have owned and operated My Speech Buds since 2019. Mrs. Mary received her Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology as well as her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology through Towson University. She is currently licensed and certified to practice in Maryland. Mrs. Mary has 10 years of combined experience through Baltimore County Public Schools, Harford County Public Schools, as well as via private practice. Mrs. Mary is highly trained and experienced in providing speech-language services. With a passion for helping individuals improve their communication abilities, Mrs. Mary aims to assist as many individuals or "buds" achieve their personal and/or academic goals with the assistance of speech-language services. We welcome you as a new "bud" to our community!

My Speech Buds, LLC specializes in providing services in order to address a variety of areas, including articulation, language, AAC usage, stuttering, as well as phonics/reading instruction. Mrs. Mary has experience assisting children and adults with their communication abilities. Whether the goal is to improve academic skills, life skills, or a combination, treatment is tailored to an individual's needs. Consultation services are provided free of charge in order to assist with discussing concerns and creating a plan for assessment and/or treatment sessions. Evaluation and therapy sessions are provided via teletherapy, which is supported as a successful and more accessible way for clients to receive 

speech-language services. Virtual speech-language services are most successful with clients ages 4+.

My Speech Buds takes a collaborative approach to speech-language services. From the assessment to therapy services, the goal is to work closely with our clients and their families to develop and implement personalized treatment plans. Communication is a team effort, and we strive to empower our clients to take an active role in their own care.

Discussions with the client and/or family are crucial throughout the therapy process in order to improve communication skills outside of therapy sessions. Conversations after sessions combined with periodic discussions about progress are conducted in order to provide ideas for therapeutic activities as well as provide updates to treatment plans. Collaboration is an essential key in order to promote improvements throughout the therapy process.
